Herbal medications in the United States are not held to the same standards as prescription and OTC medications are by the FDA. That being said, I would not advocate taking any herbal product. The contents and amount of contents can vary in each bottle. If you are taking any other prescriptions these herbal products can interact and increase or decrease the other drug’s blood levels making them toxic or noneffective.
